The main objective of this paper is to give a new, simpler proof of a result of \textit{J. Parcet} [J. Funct. Anal. 256, No. 2, 509--593 (2009; Zbl 1179.46051)] on weak boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund type operators, that is, of operators written formally as \[ Tf(x)=\int_{y\in\mathbb{R}^n}k(x,y)f(y)\,dy, \] on noncommutative \(L_p\)-spaces. Let (\(\tilde{M},\tau\)) be a noncommutative measure space, and \(M\) a von Neumann subalgebra of \(\tilde{M}\) such that \(\tau\) restricted to \(M\) is semifinite. Let \(N\) (resp., \(\tilde{N}\)) be the von Neumann algebra of \(^*\)-weakly measurable \(M\)-valued (resp., \(\tilde{M}\)-valued) functions on \(\mathbb{R}^N\). The kernel \(k\) is a map from \(\mathbb{R}^n\times \mathbb{R}^n\) into \(M'\cap\tilde{M}\). The main result is that, if \(T:L_2(N)\to L^2(\tilde{N})\) is a bounded Calderón-Zygmund-type operator with kernet \(k\) satisfying appropriate smoothness and size conditions, then, for all \(f\in L_1(N)\), \[ \sup_{t>0}t\lambda_t(Tf)\leq c\|f\|_1, \] where the constant \(c\) depends only on \(n\) and the Lipschitz parameter from the smoothness condition, and \(\lambda\) is the (tail) distribution function of the operator given as the argument. This theorem enables the author to recover the \(L_p\)-boundedness of noncommutative Calderón-Zygmund type operators on \(L_p\)-spaces for \(1<p<\infty\).
