A partial spread in a \(2n\)-dimensional vector space is a set of \(n\)-spaces such that any 2 have only \(0\) in common. The spread is singular if every vector or every singular vector is in a member of the spread. The author gives new partial spreads that are maximal among symplectic spreads, concentrating on dimensions greater than 4. Most generally, he proves that for any \(q\) and \(m \geq 1\), an \(\mathrm{Sp}(4m, q)\)-space has a maximal symplectic partial spread of size \(q^{2m} - q^m + (2, q-1)\).
