Given a bounded open set \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{n}\), and \(m\in \mathbb{N}\) with \(2\leq m\leq n\), a convex function \(u:\Omega \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is constructed using laminates of finite order (which are certain convex combinations of Dirac masses). The gradient \(f=\nabla u\in W^{1,1}\left( \Omega,\mathbb{R}^{n}\right) \) is a homeomorphism \(f:\Omega \rightarrow \Omega\) having a pathological behavior: among others, for \(m=n\), it sends a set of full measure to a null set, and a null set to a set of full measure.
