Let \(X\) be a smoooth complex projective variety and \(A\) a globally generated line bundle over \(X\). The kernel \(M_A\) of the map of evaluation of global sections is an object of interest: for instance the stability of its dual is equivalent to that of the pull-back by the map defined by \(A\) of the tangent of the corresponding projective space. Several results on this topic are recalled in the Introduction on the paper under review. As a generalization, one can consider a smooth curve \(C\) in a smooth projective surface \(j:C \hookrightarrow X\), a globally generated line bundle \(A\) on \(C\) and a linear subspace of global sections \(V\) spanning \(A\). The Lazarsfeld-Mukai (LM) bundle \(F_{C,A,V}\) is the kernel of the evaluation map \(V \otimes {\mathcal O}_X \to j_*A\). Several results on the stability of some particular type of LM-bundles on \(K3\) surfaces are known (see the Introduction of this paper and references therein). The goal of this paper is to get results of this kind for Jacobian surfaces. In fact, for \(X\) the Jacobian of a genus \(2\) curve and \(Y\) its associated Kummer surface. For \(L\) an even multiple of the curve and \(L'\) its descent to \(Y\). In Theorem 1.1 its is shown that the dominating component of \({\mathcal W}_d^1(|L'|)\) (parametrizing curves in the linear system \(|L'|\) equipped with a degree \(d\) linear system of positive dimension, see (III) in Section 2.4) corresponds to a \(\mu_{L'}\)-stable LM-bundle on \(Y\). Furthermore (see Theorem 1.2), for \(C \in |L|\) smooth and a base point free \(g_d^1\) on \(C\) the \(\mu_L\)-semistability of the corresponding LM bundle, under certain assumptions on \(C\) and \(g_d^1\), is proved.
