    The authors first prove that, if \(X\) is a finitely generated Banach \(C(K)\)-module, then the following conditions are equivalent: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(X^{*}\) has the Radon-Nikodým property (RNP). \item[(2)] \(X\) does not contain a copy of \(l^{1}\). \end{itemize}} Among other things, they also prove the following result: Let \(X\) be a Banach \(C(K)\)-module of finite multiplicity. Then the following are equivalent: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(X^{*}\) has the RNP. \item[(2)] \(X\) does not contain a copy of \(l^{1}\). \item[(3)] Any cyclic subspace of \(X\) does not contain a copy of \(l^{1}\). \item[(4)] Any cyclic subspace of \(X\) represented as a Banach lattice does not contain \(l^{1}\) as a sublattice. \end{itemize}}
