The authors consider the dynamical behavior of a generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled system under a special constraint on the potentials. Using explicit formulas of various travelling wave solutions, the bifurcation set and phase portraits are provided. The results are also a supplement to the existing solution theory. The paper is clearly written and well structured.
