Let \(M\) be an \(n\)-dimensional compact connected space-like submanifold of the pseudo-sphere \(S^{n+m}_p= \{x\in\mathbb{R}^{n+m+1}_p: \langle x,x\rangle= {1\over c}\}\), where \(\mathbb{R}^{n+m+1}_p\) is the real vector space with an inner product of signature \(p\), \(1\leq p\leq m\). Let \(M\) have flat normal bundle and a parallel one-dimensional first normal space. Assume that when the first normal space is spacelike, \(M\) is included in a (Riemannian) closed normal ball with radius \(r<\pi/2\) of \(S^{n+m}_p\) and the Ricci curvature of \(M\) satisfies \(\text{Ric}\leq(n- 1)/\sin^2r\). Assume when the first normal space is time-like, the hyperbolic image of \(M\) is contained in a geodesic ball of \(H^{n+m}\) of radius \(r> 0\) and \(\text{Ric}\leq (n-1)/\cosh^2r\). Under these assumptions it is proven that \(M\) is isometric to a round \(n\)-sphere.
