Exact values of Bernstein widths of Sobolev classes of periodic functions (Q1916609)

Let \(T\) be the unit circle realized as the interval \([-\pi, \pi]\) with the points \(-\pi\) and \(\pi\) identified. Continuing the investigations by \textit{V. M. Tikhomirov} [Some questions of the theory of approximations. (Russian). Moscow: Izd. Mosk. Gos. Univ., 1976], \textit{A. Pinkus} [\(n\)-widths in approximation theory (1985; Zbl 0551.41001)], and the second author [Mat. Sb. 182, No. 11, 1635-1656 (1991; Zbl 0798.41015)], the authors determine the exact values of the odd Bernstein widths of the Sobolev class \(W^r_p(T)\) in the metric of the space \(L_q (T)\) when \(1<p \leq q< \infty\).
