This paper studies the Ablowitz-Ladik (AL) hierarchy and its relation to the Gromov-Witten theory of local \({\mathbb {P}}^{1}\). The authors first obtain a Lax formulation of the AL system, and then express its dispersionless limit by a conformal semisimple Frobenius manifold. They show that this Frobenius manifold carries a local bi-Hamiltonian structure, and also show that it is dual to the Frobenius manifold from the equivariant GW theory of \(\mathcal O_{\mathbb P^1}(-1)\oplus \mathcal O_{\mathbb P^1}(-1)\). This result is a genus \(0\) mirror symmetry for local \(\mathbb P^1\).
