Harmonic functions on [IN] and central hypergroups (Q1942330)

The author introduces some classes of hypergroups with invariant relatively compact neighborhoods of the identity which are well-known in group theory. In this setting, some standard results are derived. Moreover, harmonic functions on SIN-hypergroups and central hypergroups are considered. In particular, a Choquet-Deny-type result as well as a Liouville theorem for bounded harmonic functions are derived. Moreover, positive harmonic functions are represented in these cases as integrals of nonnegative multiplicative functions. The reader should notice that some results (e.g., the proof of Lemma 3.2) must be read with care as some formulas, which are trivial for groups, may cause problems for hypergroups.
