Parameter-dependent edge operators (Q1959096)

The authors construct new classes of elliptic operators on an infinite cone with compact base which is a manifold with edges. Depending on a singularity order \(k\) there is a principal symbols hierarchy \((\sigma_j)_{0\leq j\leq k}\) for pseudodifferential operators. Assuming a given operator to be \((\sigma_0,\sigma_1)\)-elliptic, results are obtained which show that after adding a suitable smoothing operator also ellipticity with respect to \(\sigma_2\) holds.
