The affine Lie superalgebras \(\mathfrak{q}(n)^{(2)}\) are twisted affinizations of queer Lie superalgebras \(\mathfrak{q}(n)\). Their Verma modules (= standardard Verma type module) were studied by \textit{M. Gorelik} and \textit{V. Serganova} [Mosc. Math. J. 8, No. 1, 91--109 (2008; Zbl 1162.17023)]. In the paper under review, the authors study non-standard Verma type modules of \(\mathfrak{q}(n)^{(2)}\). They give a sufficient condition for the irreducibility of these modules. They also classify all irreducible diagonal \(\mathbb{Z}\)-graded modules over certain Heisenberg subsuperalgebras contained in \(\mathfrak{q}(n)^{(2)}\).
