Geometry of the Sasakura bundle (Q1987043)

This is an exposition of various methods to construct the Sasakura bundle [\textit{N. Sasakura}, Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 8, 527--581 (1987; Zbl 0617.32041)]. The difficult and interesting problem of constructing small rank indecomposable vector bundles on projective spaces has a long history and the Sasakura example of a rank three bundle on 4-space may be the last really new construction till now. The article outlines several methods of construction, and one `non-construction' due to \textit{N. Mohan Kumar} [Invent. Math. 130, No. 2, 277--286 (1997; Zbl 0913.14011)] of this bundle. The article concludes with a few results on globally generated vector bundles on projective spaces with small first Chern class.
