The authors study the log canonical thresholds for certain Burniat surfaces. Let \(X\) be a normal variety with at worst log canonical singularities and \(D\) be an effective \(\mathbb{Q}\)-Cartier divisor. The log canonical threshold of \(D\) along a subvariety \(Z\) of \(X\) is defined by \[\mathrm{lct}_{Z}(X,D) := \mathrm{sup} \{ \lambda \in \mathbb{Q} \, : \, (X, \lambda D) \text{ is log canonical along } Z\}.\] If \(Z=X\), then we write \(\mathrm{lct}_{Z}(X,D) = \mathrm{lct}(X,D)\). Using the definition of the log canonical threshold we can define the global log canonical threshold of \(X\) as \[ \mathrm{glct}(X) :=\mathrm{inf} \bigg\{ \mathrm{lct} (X,D) \, | \, D \text{ is an effective } \mathbb{Q} \text{-Cartier divisor on } X \] \[ \text{ which is } \mathbb{Q} \text{-linearly equivalent to } -K_{X} \bigg\}. \] The global log canonical threshold is an algebraic counterpart of Tian's \(\alpha\)-invariant which is used to study the existence of Kähler-Einstein metric for an arbitrary polarized pair \((X,L)\), where \(X\) is a smooth variety and \(L\) is an ample divisor on it. In this setup, one can define the global log canonical threshold for a \(\mathbb{Q}\)-Cartier divisor \(\mathcal{L}\) on a normal variety \(X\) with at worst log canonical singularities, namely \[ \mathrm{glct}(X,\mathcal{L}) :=\mathrm{inf} \bigg\{\mathrm{lct} (X,D) \, | \, D \text{ is an effective } \mathbb{Q} \text{-Cartier divisor on } X \] \[ \text{ which is } \mathbb{Q} \text{-linearly equivalent to } \mathcal{L} \bigg\}. \] In the present paper the authors study the global log canonical thresholds for Burniat surfaces \(X\) with \(K_{X}^{2} = 6\) via their canonical divisors. Such surfaces are minimal surfaces of general type with \(p_{g} = 0\) constructed as bidouble covers of \(\mathbb{P}^{2}\). In the first part of the paper, the authors consider a polarized pair \((X, 2K_{X})\). The bicanonical map \(\phi\) of \(X\) has an image that is a del-Pezzo surface \(\Sigma\) of degree \(6\) in \(\mathbb{P}^{6}\). In this scenario, the authors show that the global log canonical threshold of the polarized pair \((X, K_{X})\) is \(\frac{1}{2}\), and \[\mathrm{glct}(X, 2K_{X}) =\mathrm{lct}(X,D) = \frac{1}{4}\] for some divisor \(D \in |2K_{X}|\). The second main result of the paper can be formulated as follows. Theorem. Let \(X\) be a Burniat surface with \(K_{X}^{2} = 6\) and let \(m\) be a positive even integer. Then any divisor \(D \in |mK_{X}|\) such that \(\mathrm{glct}(X, K_{X}) = \mathrm{lct}(X, \frac{1}{m}D)\) is invariant under the \(\mathbb{Z}_{2}^{2}\)-action associated to the bicanonical map \(\phi\) of \(X\).
