The authors consider the semiclassical problem (i.e., the existence and asymptotic behavior of the solutions when \(\varepsilon \to 0+\)) for the singularly perturbed Choquard equation \[ -\varepsilon^2 \Delta u + V(x) u = \varepsilon^{\mu -3} \left(\int\limits_{\mathbb{R}^3} \frac{Q(y) G(u(y))}{|x-y|^\mu} \text{d}y\right) Q(x) g(u),\tag{1} \] where \(0 <\mu <3\), \(\varepsilon\) is a positive parameter, \(V,Q \in C(\mathbb{R}^3,\mathbb{R})\), \(g(u)= \frac{\text{d} G(u)}{\text{d} u}\) and \(g\) is of critical growth 6-\(\mu\) by reason of the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality. Under suitable assumptions on \(g\), the authors first study the critical Choquard equation with constant coefficients and prove the existence of ground states. Further they establish existence and multiplicity of semi-classical solutions for the singular perturbed critical Choquard equation (1). Using variational methods (mountain pass technique), the concentration phenomena around the maximum set of the nonlinear potential function \(Q(x)\) (semiclassical limit I) and the concentration phenomena around the minimum set of the linear potential \(V(x)\) (semiclassical limit II) are characterized .
