One of the principal features, which make an analysis of non-linear wave equation sufficiently harder than of linear ones, is the emergence of higher harmonics due to non-linearity. This work considers such kind of processes (resonant interactions leading to the generation of a third wave mode from two wave modes) applying the inverse scattering transform within the semiclassical approximation. The properties of semiclassical soliton ensembles for the three-wave resonant interaction (TWRI) equations are studied and graphically illustrated. In addition, an appendix contains a review of the TWRI equations derivation and issues related to the scattering approach.
