The authors study the Bergman-Toeplitz operators \(T_{\psi}\) induced by the function \(\psi(w)=K_{\Omega}^{-\alpha}(w,w)d_{\Omega}^{\beta}(w)\) with \(\alpha,\beta\geq 0\) on pseudoconvex domains of finite type. The symbol \(K_{\Omega}(\cdot,\cdot)\) stands for the Bergman kernel, \(d_{\Omega}\) is the distance to the boundary. Such operators are denoted \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\). They establish necessary and sufficient conditions for boundedness on weighted Bergman spaces, upper and lower estimates for the essential norm and a characterization of Schatten class membership. Specifically, let \(\psi\colon \Omega\rightarrow \mathbb{C}\) with \(\Omega\) a domain in \(\mathbb{C}^{n}\) and let \[ M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\psi}(w):=|\psi(w)|K_{\Omega}^{\frac{1}{p}-\frac{1}{q}}d_{\Omega}(w)^{a(\frac{1}{p}-\frac{1}{q})}, w\in \Omega \] In particular, if \(\psi(w):=K_{\Omega}(w,w)^{-\alpha}d_{\Omega}^{\beta}(w)\) then the corresponding \(M\) function is denoted by \(M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\alpha,\beta}\). The main result of the paper (Theorem 1.1) says that if \(\Omega\) is one of the following domains: \begin{itemize} \item[(i)] a strongly pseudoconvex domain; \item[(ii)] a pseudoconvex domain of finite type in \(\mathbb{C}^{2}\); \item[(iii)] a convex domain of finite type; \item[(iv)] a decouple domain of finite type; \item[(v)] a pseudonvex domain of finite type whose Levi form has only one degenerate eigenvalue or comparable eigenvalues, \end{itemize} then the operator \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\colon L_{a}^{p}(\Omega)\rightarrow L_{a}^{q}\) is continuous if and only if \(M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\alpha,\beta}\in L^{\infty}(\Omega)\). Here, \(L_{a}^{p}(\Omega)\) denotes the weighted space of all measurable functions such that \[ \|f\|_{p,a}:=\Bigl{(}\int_{\Omega}|f(z)|^{p}d_{\Omega}(z)^{a}dV\Bigr{)}^{\frac{1}{p}}<\infty. \] Furthermore, if \(M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\alpha,\beta}\in L^{\infty}(\Omega)\) then the essential norm of the operator \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\) is uniformly comparable with \[ \limsup_{w\rightarrow \partial \Omega} M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\alpha,\beta}(w). \] If the operator \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\) is compact on \(L^{2}(\Omega)\), then \(T_{\alpha,\beta}\) belongs to the Schatten class \(S_{s},s\geq 1\) if and only if \(K_{\Omega}(w,w)^{1-s\alpha}d_{\Omega}(w)^{s\beta}\) belongs to \(L^{1}(\Omega)\). Some results are also obtained for a more general symbol. For instance (Theorem 3.2) if \(M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\psi}\in L^{\infty}(\Omega)\), then \[ \|T_{\psi}\|_{L_{a}^{p}(\Omega)\rightarrow L_{a}^{q}(\Omega)}\leq C\Bigl{(}\frac{p^{'}+q}{(1+a)(1-\frac{ap^{'}}{q})}\Bigr{)}^{\frac{1}{p^{'}}+\frac{1}{q}}\|M_{\Omega,p,q,a}^{\psi}\|_{\infty} \] if \(1<p\leq q<\infty\), \(-1<a<\frac{q}{p^{'}}\) with \(\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{p^{'}}=1\). The domain is assumed to be bounded and the Bergman kernel is supposed to satisfy the estimates typical for convex domains of finite type or finite type in \(\mathbb{C}^{2}\). In this more general situation also some estimates are obtained for the essential norm of the operator \(T_{\psi}\) (Theorem 4.2). Lastly, the Authors consider the weighted Bergman space \(A_{a}^{p}(\Omega):=L^{p}_{a}(\Omega)\cap H(\Omega)\) and obtain an analog of the main result in this situation (Theorem 6.3).
