The paper investigates certain properties of the Cesàro operator \(C\) on the spaces \(\mathscr{E}_{[\omega]}(\mathbb{R}_+)\) of ultradifferentiable functions of Roumieu and Beurling type (in the sense of \textit{R. W. Braun} et al. [Result. Math. 17, No. 3--4, 206--237 (1990; Zbl 0735.46022)]), respectively, where \((Cf)(x)=\frac{1}{x}\int_0^x f(t) dt, x>0,\) and \((Cf)(0)=0\). Among others, it is shown that \(C\) acts continuously on \(\mathscr{E}_{[\omega]}(\mathbb{R}_+)\) and that its spectrum equals its point spectrum which coincides with \(\{\frac{1}{n};\,n\in\mathbb{N}\}\), where for the spectral properties in the Beurling case it is assumed that \(\omega(t)=o(t)\) as \(t\rightarrow\infty\). Additionally, it is shown that \(C\) is both power bounded and uniformly mean ergodic but not weakly supercyclic on \(\mathscr{E}_{[\omega]}(\mathbb{R}_+)\). The main tool in the spectral analysis of \(C\) is a careful study of the spectrum of the operator \((Af)(x)=-xf'(x)\) on \(\mathscr{E}_{[\omega]}(\mathbb{R}_+)\) which is connected to \(C\) via \(C=(1-A)^{-1}\), the resolvent operator of \(A\) in \(1\). Dynamical properties of \(A\) acting on \(\mathscr{E}_{[\omega]}(\mathbb{R}_+)\) are investigated as well. The paper complements previous results of the author et al. on the Cesàro operator acting on the Fréchet space of smooth functions on \(\mathbb{R}_+\), [Monatsh. Math. 181, No. 2, 267--283 (2016; Zbl 1358.47003); Monatsh. Math. 181, 991--993 (2016; Zbl 1478.47003)].
