The authors of this paper investigate several properties (of a dynamical flavour) of the continuous Cesàro operator \(C\), which associates to a complex-valued function \(f\) on \(\mathbb{R}^{+}\), belonging to a certain function space, the function \(Cf\) defined by \[ Cf(x)=\dfrac{1}{x}\int_{0}^{x}f(t)\,dt,\quad x>0. \] Power-boundedness, mean ergodicity, uniform mean ergodicity, hypercyclicity, supercyclicity of \(C\) are studied on such spaces as \(\mathcal{C}([0,1])\), \(\mathcal{C}_{l}([0,+\infty ))\) (that is, continuous functions on \({\mathbb{R}}^{+}\) admitting a finite limit at infinity), the Fréchet space \(\mathcal{C}(\mathbb{R}^{+})\) (endowed with the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^{+}\)) or \(L^{p}_{\text{loc}}(\mathbb{R}^{+})\), \(1<p<+\infty \). The spectrum and point spectrum of \(C\) on these various spaces are also determined.
