    Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field of any characteristic and let \(Y\) be an Enriques surface with a fixed polarization \(H\). For \(d \in \mathbb{N}\) let \[r_{d}(Y) := \# \{\text{ rational curves } C \subset Y \text{ with } \deg(C) = d = C.H\}\] and \[S_{d}(Y) := r_{1}(Y) + \dots + r_{d}(Y) = \# \{\text{ rational curves } C \subset Y \text{ with } \deg(C) \leq d\}.\] The main result of the paper under review can be formulated as follows. Main Theorem. Let \(d \in \mathbb{N}\) and assume that \(Y\) is an Enriques surface with smooth \(K3\) cover. Fix a polarization \(H\) on \(Y\) such that \(H^{2} > 12d^{2}\). Then \(S_{d}(Y) \leq 12\). Moreover, the authors show that for any even \(d\geq 6\) and any \(h\geq 3d\), there is a \(2h\)-polarized Enriques surface with \(r_{d}=12\), and if \(\mathrm{char} \, k \neq 2\), then for any \(d\geq 3\) and any \(h\geq 9\) with \(d \, | \, h\) there is a \(2h\)-polarized Enriques surface containing \(12\) smooth rational curves of degree \(d\).
