The paper studies minimal period problems in asymptotically linear Hamiltonian systems with symmetries. It continues previous research in the field and generalizes existing results in the literature. The main results are given in two theorems which define the conditions under which an asymptotically linear Hamiltonian system has non-constant periodic and brake solution with minimal period. The paper contains two appendices with necessary definitions and background theoretical material, e.g., the definition of Maslov-type indices and their relation with Morse indices, the saddle point reduction theorem and its application to Hamiltonian systems. This helps to understand the proofs and enables one to reproduce all the calculations.
