A distribution \(S\in\mathcal{E}'(\mathbb{R})\) is called invertible if it satisfies \(S*\mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R})=\mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R})\) and \(S*\mathcal{D}'(\mathbb{R})=\mathcal{D}'(\mathbb{R})\). In other words, it is invertible if the convolution operators \[ \mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R}) \to\mathcal{E}(\mathbb{R}), \ f\mapsto S*f \ \text{ and }\ \mathcal{D}'(\mathbb{R}) \to\mathcal{D}'(\mathbb{R}), \ T\mapsto S*T \] are surjective. For a compactly supported distribution \(S\), the Fourier-Laplace transform is an entire function which can be represented as \[ \mathcal{F}(S) = \langle \mathrm{e}^{-\mathrm{i}tz}, S\rangle. \] More precisely, the image of the space of compactly supported distributions \[ \mathcal{P}:=\mathcal{F}(\mathcal{E}') \] is the space of all entire functions of exponential type having polynomial growth on the real axis. A function \(\varphi\in\mathcal{P}\) is called invertible in the sense of Ehrenpreis if the distribution \(S=\mathcal{F}^{-1}(\varphi)\) is invertible in the above sense. In this paper, the author gives invertibility criteria for certain functions in~\(\mathcal{P}\) in terms of their zero sets. In addition, a necessary condition for invertibilty of functions in \(\mathcal{P}\) having only real zeros is presented.
