In this paper the authors propose a method for constructing non-commutative deformations of an embedded submanifold \(M\subset R^{n}\) determined by a set of smooth equations \(f^{a}(x)=0\). They use for that purpose the framework of Drinfel'd twist deformation of differential geometry of Aschieri and his collaborators. The paper contains an interesting and rather thorough review of what the authors call ``twisted differential geometry'', having its roots in the work of Moyal, Weyl, Groenewold. The study is made in an abstract setting. Examples of twisted algebraic submanifolds of the space \(R^{3}\) are given as well. The paper ends with a lengthy and careful analysis of possible extensions and outlooks. This paper will be of great interest to all readers interested in the abstract theory of deformation quantization.
