The quantum Zeno effect is referred to as the phenomenon that frequently measuring a quantum system slows its time evolution and eventually freezes the system. The quantum Zeno effect has been theoretically formularized for a closed quantum system that is associated to complex Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\) and the time evolution of the system governed by Schrödinger's equation \(i\partial_t\psi=H\psi\), where \(H\) denotes the Hamiltonian governing dynamics of the system and is a self-adjoint operator on \(\mathcal{H}\). In this paper, the authors investigate the quantum Zeno effect for an open quantum system whose dynamic is generated by operators on a Banach space. Their results not only improve existing results for the case of bounded generators, but also establish the existence of a quantum Zeno limit for the case of unbounded generators.
