A function \(f\in C^{\infty}(0,\infty)\) is said to be completely monotone if \(f(t)\geq 0\) and \((-1)^n f^{(n)}(t)\geq 0\) for all \(n=1,2,\dots\) and \(t>0\). A positive function \(\varphi \in C^{\infty}(0,\infty)\) is called Bernstein function if its derivative is completely monotone. Let \(-A\) be the generator of a bounded \(C_0\)-semigroup \((e^{-tA})_{t\geq 0}\) on a Banach space \(X\), and let \(\varphi\) be a Bernstein function such that \(\varphi(0)=0\), \(\varphi^{\prime}(0+)=1\), and \(| \varphi^{\prime\prime}(0+)|<\infty\). Denote \[ \Delta^{\varphi}_{t,n}(A)=e^{-nt\varphi(A/n)}-e^{-tA} \] and \(E^{\varphi}_{t,n}(A)=e^{-n\varphi(tA/n)}-e^{-tA}\), \(n=1,2\dots\). The authors prove that if \(\alpha\in (0,2]\), then for all \(x\in D(A^{\alpha})\), \(t>0\), and \(n=1,2,\dots\), the following estimates hold: \[ \| \Delta^{\varphi}_{t,n}(A)x\|\leq 8M (n^{-1}t | \varphi^{\prime\prime}(0+)|)^{\alpha/2} \| A^{\alpha} x\| \] and \[ \| E^{\varphi}_{t,n}(A)x\|\leq 8M (n^{-1}t^2 | \varphi^{\prime\prime}(0+)|)^{\alpha/2} \| A^{\alpha} x\|, \] where \(M=\sup_{t\geq 0} \| e^{-tA}\|\).
