A chiral polytope with Schläfli symbol \(\{p_1,\, \dots,\, p_{n-1}\}\) is tight whenever it has exactly \(2p_1\cdots p_{n- 1}\) flags. In papers [Electron. J. Comb. 24, No. 3, Research Paper P3.59, 14 p. (2017; Zbl 1372.52013); Combinatorica 38, No. 1, 115--142 (2018; Zbl 1413.52016)], the first author proved the non-existence of tight chiral \(n\)-polytopes for \(n\ge 6\), determined Schläfli symbols of tight chiral polyhedra, and classified the so-called atomic chiral polyhedra which could be covered by each tight chiral polyhedron. The present paper proves the non-existence of tight chiral 5-polytopes, defines atomic chiral polytopes which generalize atomic chiral polyhedra, and gives all atomic chiral 4-polytopes. In the same way, as every tight chiral polytope covers an atomic chiral polytope, all tight chiral 4-polytopes are classified to a great extent. By a series of these papers, the classification of tight chiral polytopes for all ranks is roughly done, and it may provide a clue for classifying abstract polytopes with other specific properties.
