In this article, the authors initiate the study of uniformities on the collection \(UC(Y, Z)\) of all uniformly continuous functions between two uniform spaces \(Y\) and \(Z\). The investigation and its outcome are analogous to the well known theory of topologies on the collection of continuous functions between two topological spaces. Introducing the concept of pairwise Cauchy nets, it is observed that a function from a uniform space to another is uniformly continuous if and only if the image of every pairwise Cauchy net is pairwise Cauchy. Moreover, the idea of pairwise Cauchy nets is utilised to define the concept of continuously Cauchy nets in the uniform space of uniformly continuous functions. Defining splittingness and admissibility in this present context, their characterizations via pairwise Cauchy nets and continuously Cauchy nets are achieved. As expected, point-entourage uniformity is always splitting while entourage-entourage uniformity is admissible. Further, it has been established that the admissibility of a uniformity on \(UC(Y, Z)\) and the uniform continuity of the usual evaluation map \(e : UC(Y,Z) \times Y \rightarrow Z\) are precisely the same. Towards the end of this article, the authors pose a natural query whether or not one can develop the theory of dual uniformity in this present set-up. However, the article does not throw any light on the interrelations among the topologies obtained from the uniformities (i.e., point-entourage uniformity or the entourage-entourage uniformity) and the well known point-open and open-open topologies on them. Those who are interested in the theory of function spaces will find direction for further research in this area.
