Let \((M, \mathcal{F})\) be a regular foliated manifold, where the foliation \(\mathcal{F}\) has codimension \(q\). The author proves a generalisation of Bott's vanishing theorem for the full transverse frame holonomy groupoid of any transversely orientable foliated manifold \((M, \mathcal{F})\). As a consequence, he obtains a characteristic map, encoding both primary and secondary characteristic classes. Previous descriptions of this characteristic map are formulated for the Morita equivalent étale groupoid obtained via a choice of a complete transversal. Moreover, by working with the full holonomy groupoid novel geometric representatives of characteristic classes are obtained, in particular, a geometric, non-étale analogue of the codimension-one Godbillon-Vey cyclic cocycle, compare with [\textit{A. Connes} and \textit{H. Moscovici}, ``Background independent geometry and Hopf cyclic cohomology'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:math/0505475v1}], in terms of line integrals of the curvature form of a Bott connection. The work is related to [\textit{M. Crainic}, et al., Math. Ann. 328, No. 1--2, 59--85 (2004; Zbl 1043.57012)].
