Let \(N\) be a closed manifold and \(T^*N\) its cotangent bundle equipped with its canonical symplectic structure. A domain \(U\) in \(T^*N\) is called bounded if there is a Riemannian metric \(g\) on \(N\) such that \(U\) is contained inside the corresponding unit sphere bundle (with respect to \(g\)). We also have the following definition: For a domain \(W\) in \(T^*N\), we denote by \(\mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{ext}}(W)\) the collection of closed exact Lagrangian submanifolds of \(W\) (exactness is considered here with respect to the canonical Liouville form) and by \(\mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{ext}, N}(W) \subset \mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{ext}}(W)\) the collection of Lagrangians that are exact isotopic to the zero section. Thre are tow relevant metrics on \(\mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{ext}, N}(T^*N)\), the Hofer metric and the so-called spectral metric; this last one has been introduced by C. Viterbo. There are great differences among both metrics. Indeed, there is a conjecture by Viterbo: \textbf{Conjecture (Viterbo)}. The spectral metric on \(\mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{ext}, N}(U)\) is bounded for a bounded domain \(U\). In this paper, the authors find an upper bound on the spectral distance between two such Lagrangian submanifolds. This result is closely connected to Viterbo's conjecture.
