Heegard Floer homology is an invariant for closed, oriented \(3\)-manifolds, defined by \textit{P. Ozsváth} and \textit{Z. Szabó} [Ann. Math. (2) 159, No. 3, 1027--1158 (2004; Zbl 1073.57009)]. Bordered Heegard Floer homology is an invariant for a \(3\)-manifold \(Y\) with parametrized boundary \(F = \partial Y\) which associates to \(F\) an algebra \(\mathcal A(\mathcal Z)\) and to \(Y\) a left module over \(\mathcal A(\mathcal Z)\) and a right \(A_\infty\)-module over \(\mathcal A(\mathcal Z)\). In previous work [\textit{I. Petkova}, J. Symplectic Geom. 16, No. 1, 227--277 (2018; Zbl 1391.57007)] the author defined a relative \(\mathbb{Z}/2\)-grading on the algebra \(\mathcal A(\mathcal Z)\) and the modules over it. In the article under review the author turns the relative grading into an absolute one and shows that one of the resulting \(\mathbb{Z}/2\)-graded modules is an invariant of the bordered \(3\)-manifold.
