Summary: In this paper, we show that for all triangles in the plane, the equilateral triangle maximizes the ratio of the first two Dirichlet-Laplacian eigenvalues. This is an extension of work by \textit{B. Siudeja} [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 59, No. 3, 1087--1120 (2010; Zbl 1220.35105)], who proved the inequality in the case of acute triangles. The proof utilizes inequalities due to \textit{P. Freitas} and \textit{B. Siudeja} [ESAIM, Control Optim. Calc. Var. 16, No. 3, 648--676 (2010; Zbl 1205.35174)], together with improved variational bounds.
