One can begin with authors' abstract: ``We consider the question of how well points in a quadric hypersurface \(M \subseteq \mathbb R^d\) can be approximated by rational points of \(\mathbb Q^d \cap M\). This contrasts with the more common setup of approximating points in a manifold by all rational points in \(\mathbb Q^d\). We provide complete answers to major questions of Diophantine approximation in this context. Of particular interest are the impact of the real and rational ranks of the defining quadratic form, quantities whose roles in Diophantine approximation have never been previously elucidated. Our methods include a correspondence between the intrinsic Diophantine approximation theory on a rational quadric hypersurface and the dynamics of the group of projective transformations which preserve that hypersurface, similar to earlier results in the non-intrinsic setting due to \textit{S. G. Dani} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 359, 55--89 (1985; Zbl 0578.22012)] and \textit{D. Y. Kleinbock} and \textit{G. A. Margulis} [Invent. Math. 138, No. 3, 451--494 (1999; Zbl 0934.22016)].'' In the survey of this paper, special attention is given to the consideration of classical theorems in Diophantine approximation theory, intrinsic approximations, quadric hypersurfaces and Diophantine approximation on spheres, etc. Also, the motivation of the present research is given. General terminology and basic problems in metric Diophantine approximation, necessary preliminaries from the theory of quadratic forms, as well as Diophantine approximations in \(\mathbb R^d\) are described. The main results are proven with explanations. One can note the following items: -- the correspondence principle is introduced and is proven. This principle ``relates intrinsic Diophantine approximation on a nonsingular rational quadric hypersurface with dynamics on a certain space of arithmetic lattices''. -- For quadric hypersurfaces, the following theorem are proven: the Dirichlet-type theorem, the Khintchine-type theorem, the Jarník-Schmidt and Jarník-Besicovitch theorem, etc.
