The author presents in detail the results of his master's thesis (Saitama University, 2021) devoted to the study of singularities of central projections of regular surfaces in \(\mathbb R^3\). He first gives an overview of this topic from Ancient Greece to the Renaissance and beyond [\textit{J. W. Bruce}, Math. Intell. 6, No. 4, 18--25 (1984; Zbl 0549.58007)]. However, the source of his research is closer to nowadays predecessors such as \textit{C. T. C. Wall} [Lect. Notes Math. 597, 707--774 (1977; Zbl 0361.58004)], \textit{V. I. Arnol'd} [Russ. Math. Surv. 34, No. 2, 1--42 (1979; Zbl 0431.58010)] and their followers. Then he describes criteria for singularity types of central projections of a given surface in terms of its Monge normal form, considers all possible central projections of a fixed surface as a central projection unfolding and discusses their \(\mathcal A\)-versality including some geometric criteria of versality for central projection unfoldings. The paper contains many tables and a lot of other computational materials illustrating the author's achievements and related ideas. The author also notes that most of the calculations are very complicated, and he performed them using powerful computers.
