This paper is a well-written, well-organized and well-illustrated. It makes a valuable contribution in the analysis of the gaps between representation theory and \(K\)-theory. The author gives an explicit construction of the inverse to the Freed-Hopkins-Teleman isomorphism of rings \(\mu:R_k(G)\to K^0_G(G,\mathcal{A}^{k+h^\vee})\) from a Verlinde ring associated to \(G\) to a twisted \(K\)-theory of \(G\), see Subsection 6.2. It defines \(\mu^{-1}\) under the Poincaré duality isomorphism \(K^*_G(G,\mathcal{A}^{k+h^\vee})\cong K^G_*(G,\mathcal{A}^{k+h^\vee})\) and clarifies that \(\mu^{-1}\) coincides with a Baum-Connes-type analytic assembly map. Also, it investigates \(\mu^{-1}\) on analytic cycles coming from twisted Dirac operators through the well-known Baum-Higson-Schick construction.
