K. Tanaka studies a version of the topological motion planning problem adapted to stratified spaces in which two points in the same stratum are connected by a continuous path that lies entirely within that stratum. Methodically, he employs a slight generalization of the notion of parametrized topological complexity (TC). The latter was introduced by \textit{D. C. Cohen} et al. [SIAM J. Appl. Algebra Geom. 5, No. 2, 229--249 (2021; Zbl 1473.55010)] and is motivated by a topological abstraction of robot motion planning in which the robot is supposed to work in a space that depends on parameters. In the present article, the author studies stratifications indexed by posets whose partial orders encode the inclusions of the components of the strata, e.g. face posets of CW complexes. Such stratified spaces are seen as fibered over the associated posets, which are equipped with their \(T_0\)-Alexandroff topologies. Here, the author's considerations are based on earlier work of \textit{D. Tamaki} and \textit{H. L. Tanaka} [in: Algebraic topology and related topics. Selected papers based on the presentations at the 7th East Asian conference on algebraic topology, Mohali, Punjab, India, December 1--6, 2017. Singapore: Birkhäuser. 287--313 (2019; Zbl 1436.57034)]. After the introductory first section, the author recalls basic notions and results on parametrized TC and poset-stratified spaces in Section 2. In Section 3 it is shown that the parametrized TC of poset stratifications vanishes in various cases, e.g. for locally finite regular CW complexes and their face posets. Tanaka further shows that the definition of parametrized TC in terms of open covers leads to an interesting observation: for various standard examples of CW complexes the parametrized TC associated with the face posets becomes infinitely big. In Section 4 the author re-visits these examples using the so-called generalized parametrized TC. Loosely speaking, while parametrized TC is defined in terms of open overs of a certain space associated with the respective fibration, generalized TC is defined by decompositions of said space into arbitrary subsets. After studying the generalized parametrized TC of poset-stratified spaces and showing, among other things, that the generalized parametrized TC of a CW complex is bounded from above by its dimension, the author computes the values of that invariant for the standard examples from Section 3, e.g. spheres, tori, real and complex projective spaces.
