New products and \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-extensions of compact matrix quantum groups (Q2152475)

This article is concerned with the construction of products of compact matrix quantum groups. Classical constructions of such products include the tensor product [\textit{S.-Z. Wang}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 71, No. 3, 695--720 (1995; Zbl 0837.46052)] and the free product [\textit{S.-Z. Wang}, Commun. Math. Phys. 167, No. 3, 671--692 (1995; Zbl 0838.46057)]. Here, the authors exhibit a number of new constructions that afford compact matrix quantum groups lying (often strictly) in between the two aforementioned products. Particular attention is paid to the special case of products of easy quantum groups by the dual of the cyclic group or order \(2\), which is studied via so-called categories of partitions with extra singletons. The authors also explain the connection with closely related examples of non-easy bistochastic quantum groups.
