The authors study the Cauchy problem of one-dimensional isentropic compressible Euler equations with damping. The force is proportional to the velocity \(-\mu(1 + t)^\lambda v\). The initial condition is separated from zero and has positive limit at infinity. The initial Riemann invariants are bounded. For this system, the global existence of solutions is proved and a condition for the blow up is given. The blow up condition is a large negative value of the initial Riemann invariants.
