Shape derivative of the Dirichlet energy for a transmission problem (Q2180921)

The authors analyse a transmission problem in a 2D truncated cylinder located under the graph of a function \(u\). In such a context, the authors prove that the shape derivative of the Dirichlet energy is well defined. Further, such derivative is computed in terms of \(u\) and minimizers arising in the modelling of MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems) are discused.
