The authors consider the initial-boundary value problem of the hyperbolic integro-differential equation \(u_{tt}-\Delta_{\mathbb{B}}u + \int_0^t g(t-\tau)\Delta_{\mathbb{B}}u(\tau)\,d\tau + f(x)u_t|u_t|^{m-2} = h(x)|u|^{p-2}u\), with prescribed initial data for \(u\) and \(u_t\) and boundary condition \(u|\partial\mathbb{B} = 0\). Here \(\mathbb{B}\) is a manifold with conical singularity, and \(\Delta_{\mathbb{B}}\) is the Fuchsian Laplacian adapted to the geometry of the singular manifold. This equation describes the evolution of a viscoelastic material. The integro-differential term models damping effects, and the nonlinear terms with variable coefficients \(f\) and \(h\) are the source terms. Local (in time) well-posedness and finite time blowup are established. In particular, a lower bound for the blowup time is obtained. The proof relies essentially on analytic inequalities (e.g., Sobolev, Poincaré, etc.) on manifolds with conical singularities. The initial data \(u|\{t=0\}\) is assumed to lie in weighted Sobolev spaces with weights adapted to the conical singularity.
