Recall that a spherical braided fusion category \(\mathcal{C}\) is also called pre-modular partially due to the reason that we can define the matrices \(T\) and \(S\) now. A pre-modular fusion category \(\mathcal{C}\) is called slightly degenerate if the Muger center \(\mathcal{C}'\) is braided equivalent to the category of finite-dimensional super vector space. Slightly degenerate fusion categories play an important role in fusion categories, in particular, for classification of braided fusion categories. The paper under review focused on this important class of fusion categories. The author firstly proved the \(\dim(\mathcal{C})/2\dim(X)^2\) is always an algebraic integer for a slightly degenerated fusion category \(\mathcal{C}\) and \(X\in \mathcal{C}\) a simple object in \(\mathcal{C}\). Then the author showed that all slightly generate fusion categories of FP-dimension \(2p^nd\) and \(4p^nd\) are nilpotent and thus group-theoretical where \(p\) is an odd prime and \(d\) an odd square-free integer. At last, all slightly degenerate fusion categories of FP-dimensions \(2^n\) (\(n\leq 5\)) and \(8d\) were classified for \(d\) is a square-free integer.
