\textit{A. Buium} and \textit{B. Poonen} [Duke Math. J. 147, No. 1, 181--191 (2009; Zbl 1177.11050); Compos. Math. 145, No. 3, 566--602 (2009; Zbl 1232.11073)] studied the problem of independence of points on elliptic curves arising from special points on modular and Shimura curves. In the present paper, following the strategy of Buium and Poonen, the author proves that given a correspondence between a modular curve \(S\) and an elliptic curve \(A\), the intersection of any finite-rank subgroup of \(A\) with the set of points on \(A\) corresponding to an isogeny class on \(S\) is finite. It can be considered as an instance of the André-Pink-Mordell-Lang conjecture.
