Approximation by families of generalized sampling series, realizations of generalized \(\mathcal{K} \)-functionals and generalized moduli of smoothness (Q2188328)

The goal of this paper is to study the properties of realizations of generalized \(\mathcal{K}\)-functionals and generalized moduli of smoothness in \(L_{p}(\mathbb{R}^{d})\) spaces with \(0< p <\infty\) as well as in the space \(\mathcal{C}(\mathbb{R}^{d})\) of uniformly continuous and bounded functions. Direct Jackson-type estimates and inverse Bernstein-type estimates are obtained. Furthermore it is shown the equivalence between the approximation error of families of generalized sampling series generated by an arbitrary generator with compact support, realizations of generalized K-functionals generated by homogeneous functions and generalized moduli of smoothness generated by a periodic function.
