Initiated by \textit{B. Brubaker} et al. [Adv. Math. 299, 247--271 (2016; Zbl 1347.22014)], an interesting program, called BBF ad hoc, is proposed to understand the connection between certain unique models for unramifed principal series of \(p\)-adic groups and linear characters of their corresponding Hecke algebras, which in turn enables us to give a uniform evaluation of specific vectors under those models. In addition, a general recipe may be related to Kawanaka's construction of generalized Gelfand-Graev representations in [\textit{N. Kawanaka}, Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 47, 147--163 (1987; Zbl 0654.20046)]. In the paper under review, adapting the method in [Brubaker et al., loc. cit.], the author establishes the program BBF for the non-split Bessel model for GSp\((2n)\) in the sense of \textit{M. E. Novodvorskij} and \textit{I. I. Pyatetskij-Shapiro} [Math. USSR, Sb. 19, 243--255 (1974; Zbl 0281.22019)], under the assumption that such a model is unique for \(n>2\).
