The subject of the paper is an ergodic optimization problem in the subadditive setting. The author proves that any accumulation point of a family of equilibrium states \(\mu_t\) for the subbadditive potentials \(t\Phi\) (as \(t\to\infty\)) is a maximizing measure. Besides the Lyapunov exponent and the entropy of equilibrium states converge (as \(t\to\infty\)) to the maximum Lyapunov exponent and entropy of maximizing measures respectively. For the proof the author uses some results of [\textit{D. Feng} and \textit{W. Huang}, Commun. Math. Phys. 297, No. 1, 1--43 (2010; Zbl 1210.37007); \textit{Y.-L. Cao} et al., Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst. 20, No. 3, 639--657 (2008; Zbl 1140.37319)]. In the case of a matrix locally constant cocycle satisfying the Anosov closing property the author also proves that the maximal Lyapunov exponent can be approximated by Lyapunov exponents of measures supported on periodic orbits (see also the related result of \textit{B. Kalinin} and \textit{V. Sadovskaya} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 39, No. 3, 689--706 (2019; Zbl 1416.37049)]).
