A translation surface in the Euclidean 3-space is a surface which can be locally parametrized by the equation \[r(x,y)=\alpha(x)+\beta(y),\] where \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) and parametrized curves in 3-space are called translation curves. The author studies translation surfaces in the setting of isotropic geometry with arbitrary constant isotropic Gaussian and mean curvature under the condition that at least one translating curve lies in the plane. Note that there is another notion of translation surface which is used in the theory of Riemann surfaces (surfaces defined by an atlas whose local coordinate changes are translations of the plane). The two notions have almost nothing in common.
