The notion of finitary \(2\)-category was introduced by \textit{V. Mazorchuk} and \textit{V. Miemietz} [Compos. Math. 147, No. 5, 1519--1545 (2011; Zbl 1232.17015)] as the finite dimensional version of infinite dimensional \(2\)-categories. For example, the \(2\)-category of Soergel bimodules over the coinvariant algebra of a finite Weyl group and the \(2\)-category of projective functors over a finite dimensional associative algebra are particular cases of finitary \(2\)-categories. The main motivation of this paper is to find the finite dimensional algebras such that their corresponding tensor category of bimodules is finitary. Taking into account what is stated in the previous paragraph, in this paper the authors describe in a combinatorical way the cell structure of the tensor category of bimodules, determine existing adjunctions between its \(1\)-morphisms and find a minimal generating set with respect to the tensor structure. Also, they prove that, for the connected finite dimensional algebras obtained as quotients of the path algebras of uniformly oriented \(A_n\)-quivers modulo the radical square zero relations, every simple transitive \(2\)-representation of the \(2\)-category of projective bimodules is equivalent to a cell \(2\)-representation.
