This paper deals with a Lie group \(G\) action on a differentiable stack \(M\). This is motivated by the action of a Lie group on a manifold. The authors define the quotient stack \(M/G\) and show it is a differentiable stack. Then they define equivariant cohomology for differentiable \(G\)-stacks and extend the classical results due to Borel, Cartan and Getzler. Finally they derive several spectral sequences converging to the equivariant cohomology of a differentiable \(G\)-stack. These generalisinge among others Bott's spectral sequence which converges to the cohomology of the classifying space of a Lie group.
