The paper is concerned with the integrability analysis of the Kepler problem on the Heisenberg group. By using the Morales-Ramis theory, the authors first propose a general non-integrability result on a class of Hamiltonian systems, and then apply it to the Kepler-Heisenberg problem. They show that the Kepler-Heisenberg problem introduced by \textit{R. Montgomery} and \textit{C. Shanbrom} [Fields Inst. Commun. 73, 319--342 (2015; Zbl 1342.70041)] is not integrable in the Liouville sense. In addition, they also show that the two-body problem on the Heisenberg group is not integrable. To analyze the properties of differential Galois groups of variational equations, they use known results on the solvability of the parabolic cylinder equation and of general third-order linear differential equations.
