Let \(\mathrm{PG}(n,q)\) denote the \(n\) dimensional projective space over the field of order \(q\). A projective embedding of a semilinear space is an injective map into a projective space mapping lines into lines. The authors give a construction of an embedding of \(\mathrm{PG}(n-1,q) \times \mathrm{PG}(n-1,q)\) into \(\mathrm{PG}(2n-1,q)\) based on maximum scattered subspaces with respect to a Desarguesian spread. In this construction, there are two systems of maximum subspaces which cover this hypersurface. They show that there exist systems of maximum subspaces which are not the image of maximum subspaces of the Segre variety. With respect to the stabiliser of these embeddings they show there is a dihedral group of order \(2n\) contained as a subgroup in \(\mathrm{PGL}(2n,q)\) permuting the system of maximum subspaces. Moreover, they show that a geometric automorphism of \(\mathrm{Prod}(n-1,n-1,q)\) does not in general induce a collineation of \(\mathrm{PG}(2n-1,q)\).
