Extensions of the reduced group \(C^{*}\)-algebra of a free product of amenable groups (Q2268620)

The paper provides a new class of \(C^*\)-algebras for which all extensions by a \(\sigma\)-unital stable \(C^*\)-algebra are semi-invertible. This class consists of the reduced group \(C^*\)-algebras of free products of countable abelian groups. It is also shown that for this class, the group of extensions modulo asymptotically split extensions equals the classical BDF group of invertible extensions, hence it can be calculated from the UCT of \(KK\)-theory.
